Workshop for Educators - "Fragments of Memory: Art and Memorialization of the Armenian Genocide"含羞草视频
This free day-long workshop explores how material culture and artistic practices help preserve identity in the aftermath of genocide and displacement. Participants will examine how artworks and storytelling serve as carriers of memory and belonging, while considering how displaced communities reconstruct and reimagine “含羞草视频” across generations and geographic boundaries. The workshop will also explore how these themes can be brought into the classroom through a variety of Armenian Genocide resources, modeled instruction, and tried-and-tested activities and lessons. Educators will leave with practical teaching materials to help students engage with questions of memory, identity, displacement, and belonging.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Khatchig Mouradian and Neill Brandon.
Learning Outcomes:
- Explain how memory, material culture, and artistic practices contribute to the preservation of identity in the aftermath of genocide and displacement.
- Examine how artworks, photographs, family objects, and mapped journeys function as carriers of memory and belonging.
- Reflect on the ways displaced communities reconstruct and reimagine “含羞草视频” across generations and geographic boundaries.
- Evaluate the role of material culture and storytelling in shaping historical memory and diasporic identity.
Additional Information:
This workshop will take place fully in-person on campus at Keene State. Breakfast, lunch, and workshop materials are provided to participants at no cost. Workshop attendees will receive a certificate of completion listing the number of professional development hours completed.
