DESCRIPTION:This free day-long workshop explores how material culture and 
 artistic practices help preserve identity in the aftermath of genocide and
  displacement. Participants will examine how artworks and storytelling ser
 ve as carriers of memory and belonging\, while considering how displaced c
 ommunities reconstruct and reimagine “home” across generations and geo
 graphic boundaries. The workshop will also explore how these themes can be
  brought into the classroom through a variety of Armenian Genocide resourc
 es\, modeled instruction\, and tried-and-tested activities and lessons. Ed
 ucators will leave with practical teaching materials to help students enga
 ge with questions of memory\, identity\, displacement\, and belonging. The
  workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Khatchig Mouradian and Neill Brandon.
 Learning Outcomes:Explain how memory\, material culture\, and artistic pra
 ctices contribute to the preservation of identity in the aftermath of geno
 cide and displacement.Examine how artworks\, photographs\, family objects\
 , and mapped journeys function as carriers of memory and belonging.Reflect
  on the ways displaced communities reconstruct and reimagine “home” ac
 ross generations and geographic boundaries.Evaluate the role of material c
 ulture and storytelling in shaping historical memory and diasporic identit
 y.Additional Information:This workshop will take place fully in-person on 
 campus at Keene State. Breakfast\, lunch\, and workshop materials are prov
 ided to participants at no cost. Workshop attendees will receive a certifi
 cate of completion listing the number of professional development hours co
 mpleted. Please note that this workshop is open to all active educators (m
